Cons of Living In Jupiter Farms
Many locals would argue there really isn’t any con to living in Jupiter Farms but lets discuss a few reasons this might not be a good fit for some of those considering to relocate to this area of Florida.
No City Water
If you are used to living in the big city and having a public source of running water you might not be thrilled about learning that you will have to get accustomed to to using well water. Well water is actually better for you but there is some maintenance required with your well pumps, filtration systems when living in a rural area like The Farms.
Not All Roads Are Paved
While some might not be bothered by living on a dirt road others who are clean freaks might get frustrated with constantly cleaning their vehicles on a daily basis. Jupiter Farms like many other acreage areas in Palm Beach County consist of both paved roads and county maintained dirt roads in communities like The Farms.
Hurricanes
Believe it or not many people who are considering moving to Florida are most afraid of hurricanes which is outright crazy. Tornadoes are more terrifying than a hurricane, at minimum you know the hurricane is heading your way unlike a Tornado which can pop up in a flash. If this scares you reconsider moving to Florida in general.
Don’t Be That Neighbor
If you are accustomed to each neighbor having a perfectly manicured yard, not too much junk on ones property and the sounds of your neighbors Roosters waking you up at 5 am then moving to Jupiter Farms might not the place you should call home.
While not every neighbor has those annoying Roosters nor trash and debris sprawled throughout the yard there are plenty of homes spread throughout that you will come across that are just that, just get used to it.
Limited Shopping
If you decide to live in a rural area you also should not expect to have 100’s of stores and places to shop minutes from your front door either. Jupiter Farms does have everything you should need on a daily basis located at the nearby Jupiter Farms Village shopping plaza.
If you prefer larger malls and restaurants you will need to drive into Jupiter or the other nearby cities of Palm Beach Gardens where there are more options to shop and dine.
Many Residents Like Their Guns
If you are not into free speech and or the right to bear arms you might want to consider somewhere else to live other than Jupiter Farms. You see locals around here enjoy the right to speak freely, the right to own guns and occasionally shoot them on their property from time to time.
If you live on a 1 acre or larger lot you are legally able to use your firearms within your property limits as long as you are not putting your neighbors in harms way.
