Why Does An Inspector Need Attic Access

June 1, 2021 by David Rogers [st_comments]

The home inspection process covers alot of items throughout the house when doing the inspection after a buyer goes under contract to purchase a home and below is one important aspect of why when buying a home your inspector needs to get in the attic to inspect. This step will hopefully help you save money on your homeowners insurance policy.

Insurance companies require pictures from home inspection companies to see if the homes qualify for discounts on their homeowners insurance policy if the property meets certain wind code requirements in regards to the spacing of the nails that are nailed through the plywood. If you want to get the best insurance policy it is super important not to skip this step of the home buying process.

Wondering why it is so important for an home inspector to have access to an attic when doing the inspection then watch this video courtesy of Truview Home Inspections as they go over this important aspect of the home inspection process.
